FRY FOR KAI

FFK was a collaborative project between myself and Morgan Tahapehi. We were invited by Local Time collective to create a site specific work for the space within the St Pauls Street gallery. The work was a social participatory form that featured ourselves cooking fry bread for guests and inviting them to sit down within the lobby area. Having a popular Maori food item to share brought a lot of discussion around the visitors connections and experience of Maori communities, the activity itself opened a dialogue of Maori focused conversation which was a focus in the creation of this particular work.
